Spirituality refers to a change in the quality of consciousness in terms of the transcendence of intentionality, i.e., object-oriented and volitional consciousness, based on a change in the quality of the life force in terms of its transformation to the highest frequency level.

The common denominator of various modalities of spirituality is a personal relation to the Sacred – a reality transcending human reality and evoking in us a set of experiences of amazement and awe (mysterium tremendum et fascinans) (Rudolf Otto).

Various modalities of spirituality can be nourished from various sources, both spiritual and secular. Diversity of sources of personal spirituality represents the “signs of the times” of the contemporary society.
